I can connect to this simply because Motley Crue is one of my favorite bands and I haven't been able to attend their concerts and with this being their last tour, I have to look at it like this: At least I have their albums and I have their music video DVD.
I am in a music class and this relates to the topics we are learning. Like riffs and beats and measures. After hearing this, I was very upset to know about how terrible Mick had gotten and that Crue was closing a thirty year chapter in their life.
I feel very upset about Mick's condition and the closing of the Crue's touring days. I wish I would have been able to go to at least one show! However, at least Motley Crue will continue to write music and be able to keep in touch with their ever growing fan base. So I am still glad that their musical legacy will continue for generations to come.
- How does the structure of the text refine and support the author’s claim? Use evidence from the selection to support your answer. The author structures their text by presenting the announcement first and what national television shows the band will be on. Then he proceeds to talk about the band's achievements and including a quote from bassist Nikki Sixx. "As far as letting on to what we’re doing, that would be like finding out what you’re getting for Christmas before you open the presents. We think in an age of too much information, we’d like to keep some surprises close to our chest until we launch the Final Tour. (Sixx)" As Sixx explains, he wishes to keep the plans for the final tour a secret until the audience is able to see the show.
